![]() ![]() ![]() And her desire to take responsibility for the wrongs of the past leads her to do things bordering on suicidal. As a result we simply don't have enough time with her to evoke those truly passionate feelings a best girl needs to. That's what happens when you're an anime original character. On the negative side Ran'Tao is a very minor character in the grand scheme of things. A plan that would have worked if Uryu didn't wimp out on her. ![]() ![]() This was on perfect display when she confronted Kariya at the end of the Bount arc and temporarily sealed his power so Uryu could kill him. She also accomplishes a great deal despite the sealing of her powers by using her intellect and ingenuity. She has a very kind and reserved personality but also has a strong will when it comes to doing what she sees as right. Ran'Tao as previously stated has the classic Librarian look going for her. We meet her during the fight between Kariya, Ichigo and Byakuya. Ran'Tao tried to help the Bounts escape persecution at the hands of the Soul Reapers and was punished by having her powers sealed off. In all seriousness Ran'Tao is the Soul Reaper responsible for the Bounts and due to some stuff Yoshino Soma is a partial clone of Ran'Tao. I now present Yoshino Soma -Librarian Edition. Unfortunately Yoshino is simply a victim of being in the worst arc of a show and not being all that memorable during her time in it. Her stay in Bleach was also fairly short lived so she had little time to make us fall in love with her. When you're trying to make a paragraph about a character's best qualities it helps if you don't have to look up their entire life story for writing inspiration. A best girl needs to have staying power first and foremost. Yoshino is pretty forgettable after 366 episodes. Even though this left her completely alone ion a world that wouldn't accept her she continued to show strength and determination until the very end. After decades of watching time pass her by and being fooled by Kariya she has decided to live for herself and oppose him after learning he was feeding on living souls. With her neat, long brown hair she gives off a very elegant, adult vibe that many of the women in Bleach lack. After she rescues a defenseless Uryu we learn more about her and the Bounts in general. As conflict ensues Yoshino is then captured by the other Bounts showing us that there may be more to her than we first thought. One of the few female Bounts, we first meet Yoshino when Ichigo comes across her about to (in his mind) feed on a living soul. ![]()
